You sound like the people I admired so much -KO, Zenos, Arthur Anderson and Doug Cedarleaf. What is the Covenant doing by not allowing you to work in it! Totally crazy if you ask me. Bless you for your work.

GAY.  I was immediately put on notice by the elders of my congregation that while I was still welcome to attend services there (yeah, right), they could no longer accept any offer of mine to provide music for services when I came back to visit (something which had heretofore been assumed as given ever since I left for college).  Seemed perfectly clear to me that I was not welcome, despite protestations to the contrary.  So I never went back (to the church, that is).  The theatre has become my “church”, where I find more acceptance, more love, and more inspiration than I EVER experienced in any church.  All paths lead home to the divine, I believe, as long as the path is pursued with an open heart.  I applaud those who forge ahead against the fear and hatred and stay within their faith traditions, and yet some of us must find a path different than the one to which we were pointed as children.  The Divine can (and does, I believe) “bless us,  EVERY ONE.”
